Motion of dislocations in Ni and Ni-50%Co single crystals by the application of alternating magnetic fields has been observed using the etch-pitting technique. Additional distances of motion of dislocations caused by the fields after the application of an external stress are distributed randomly in the range between several microns and about 80 μm at the yield point of each crystal, and their distances are almost independent of the field frequency. Experimental results are discussed on the basis of the interaction between individual dislocations and oscillating domain walls in ferromagnetic crystals.
