In the early stages of teaching a creation of dancing, the following effect may be given to the students according to assigned a music to them ; (1) to make the students grasp more clearly the theme and form of a production, and (2) to reduce the hours for creating the sound and selecting the music and to give the students more hours for dancing. In this study, the creaction of dancing on the basis of a aasigned music by the instructor was investigated in the dance class of the faculty of physical education, Chukyo University. By assigning a music to the dance students, they may grasp more clearly the image of dance. However, by comparing the self-evaluation of their own performance immediately after dancing and the self-evaluation of their own performance by observing on VTR, the latter was evaluated worser than the former. This result may indicate that the image of performance is worser than the movement perfromed actually.
