• In the experiments of the autoxidation of high boiling hydrocarbons such as fractions of lubricating oils in liquid phase, the author has perceived frequently the occurrence of the optimum peroxide accumulation period more than once. For studying the composition of the substance at the accumulation period, the author has studied the occurring state of the period by conducting the autoxidation of 17 pure hydrocarbons having known constitution in liquid phase at ordinary pressure and under pressure. It has been perceived from the experimental results that there was a definite regularity between the kind of the hydrocarbons and the optimum peroxide accumulation periods.
