1. The present experiments dealt with the germination percentage, maximum germination temperature, and the formation of the de-leaf-nodulated and deformed plants caused by the heat treatment of the Ardidi crispy, and A. punctata. 2. Even if treat the seeds of A. crispy, and A. punctata at 40℃ for 24 hours, the germination percentage make no remarkable change to the control, and there appears no de-leaf-nodulated plants so it is clear that there is little influence by the low temperature treatment. D. The maximum germination temperature was 55℃ in both species and at 57 and 60℃ there germinated no seed. 4. When treat the seeds of the both species by1 heat, knobs are made on the growing points (apical, axillary and cotyledon knobs) in a direct ratio to the treated temperature and duration of time and the growth of them stopped entirely in the second year, in the same time, some de-leaf-nodulated plants are made in A. crispy, but the formation of the de-leaf-nodulated plants by this method can not merely reduce to the presence or absence of the leaf nodule bacteria then an indirect physical effect of heat to the differentiation of leaf-nodule is significant. 5. The knob is a kind of a deformation of stem, projections are formed by the elongation of a central or a primary central cylinder of stem in their center and they accompany the bark, epidermis, and cortex in outside. In them there found no meristem and the thickning growth of them is obviously resulted from an adnormal division and growth of the cells of cortex. 7. From the reason of the formation of the knobs by the heat treatment is stricktly limitted to the eaf-nodular-species, so some bacterial actions to it is suggestable, but the presence of the bacteria in the knobs is now completely denied, so they may be started their formation by a reaction of some chemical substances in leaf-nodule-bacterica which were secreted by the stimulation of heat.
