This research attempts to construct a causal relationship and structural model of the poverty incidence on the community in Sulawesi Region of Indonesia. The study makes use secondary statistics data "Potensi Desa" by employing factor analysis and path analysis as primary statistical tools. The model consists of intervene or intermediate and independent variables structuring the impact pathways to the incidence of poverty. It reveals that poverty incidence associates directly with at least five very important factors such as Agricultural Activities (Ecact1), Shop Availability (Finmkt1), Cultural Facility (Socult2), School Access (Eduax4), and Number of Households (Topdem2). Beside that, there are four important indirect factors, which are Medical Service Accessibility (Medax1), Medical Doctor Availability (Medax2), Village Formal Status (Vilgovt1) and Population Density (Topdem4). There is no strong direct impact provided by any intermediate variables, nevertheless Agricultural Households (Ecact1) provide important pathways for the indirect causes of the poverty. As far poverty reduction as concern, there are two important indirect impacts originated from Village Formal Status and Population Density. Therefore, the statistical results suggest the improvement of the Finmktl, Vilgovtl and Topdem2. It is important to recognize that improvement of Service and Trade Sector (EcactS) as well as Industrial and Grafting Sector (Ecact2) has positive effect on poverty reduction through agricultural sector. The model confirms the important roles of intermediate factors and non-economic variables towards the poverty situation. Finally, social aspects such as education, village status and population density are always important elements, in addition to the promotion of service, trade, and industrial activities along side with agriculture sector in developing the community economy, in line with the poverty reduction efforts.
