Development processes found within society, in all its various forms, often have a direct and remarkable impact on gender relations. From birth, gender assignment plays a vital role in childhood development. One is quickly introduced to a predetermined ritual that one follows to often very predictable results. Along this path, one is given the necessary tools to succeed; a variety of traits seen as either masculine or feminine, a vocabulary, and the necessary tools to successfully express or conceal this vocabulary. This predictable introduction to life with its predictable result often leads to calcification, where we quickly learn to not analyze or question the path we are on, and simply digest the tools, necessary to continue in this way. As we grow older we need to strongly take a look at the developmental framework we have built around us, including the vocabulary we use, and make educated decisions as to whether our forms of expression are truly acceptable to all. At this point of analysis, any imbalances or transgressions should be addressed within one's self, hopefully before it is pointed out by a victim of this imbalance or transgression.
