In the previous paper, the writer refered to the relations between the axes of the sedimentary depressions in each stage and the synclines of the Niigata Neogene formations. In this paper, taking up the anticlines, the relations between the axes of the sedimentary depressions and the anticlines are described in detail to consider the geological conditions of the oil fields. (1) The sedimentary depressions are mainly divided into two directions of N-S and NE-SW. The former belongs to the thick depositional provinces of the Teradomari stage, the latter is found in the stages of Nishiyama and Haizume and in the thin depositional provinces of the Teradomari stage. (2) The directions of anticlines are a]so divided into N-S and NE-SW. Both run parallel generally or bear resemblance to two directions of the sedimentary depressions respectively. (3) Two directions of the antic-lines and the sedimentary depressions are related to the amount of the deposits. Therefore, three paragraphs mentioned above mean that the amount of the deposits, sedimentary depressions and anticlines have a chain relation in origination. (4) The axes of sedimentary depressions and anticlines in the Uonuma stage also show the same direction, but they differ strikingly in the formational belt from that of the Teradomari stage. Originally, the deposits in the Uonuma stage were controlled by the whole areal upheaval of land in the early Pleistocene rather than the folding and as the result of it the Uonuma sedimentary basin was built. So the axes of the principal depressions of this stage have close relations to the formation of the Uonuma basin.
