新入生の学校イメージの形成に影響を及ぼす要因の検討 : 良い・悪いを分けるものは何か

This study investigated factors affecting image formation among 129 university freshwomen in the Social Welfare Department and 69 in the International Communications Department. The freshwomen completed a questionnaire designed to reveal image of the university using 23 pairs of adjectives on scales called the semantic differential method. The result of factor analysis suggest that 'good', 'like', 'pleasant', 'easy to understand', 'familiar'receive a high loading score in terms of the first factor. About 25% students have a negative image using terms such as 'undistinctive', 'uninteresting', 'cold', 'boorish', 'hard to understand', 'dislike'. Though almost all students intend to obtain a qualification and would like to study hard in their student life, some of them found it difficult to understand their lessons and did not enjoy their lessons and as aresult it seems they formed a negative image.
