The purpose of this paper is to consider a new detection method of a moving object using the images obtained from a monitoring camera. Here, we deal with the optical flow as a detection method. However, it is difficult to detect a moving object only by using the optical flow, when the moving object is at a distant position in a space with depth, because the size of the flow vectors on the moving object are small. By using the blur processing to facilitate detection of the optical flow, we confirmed that the detection accuracy of a moving object was improved. In addition, we proposed a new method for converting the size of the flow vector in proportion to the depth. The results obtained reasonably represented the shape of the moving objects.
