A survey was made on the freshwater algae of the bogs and ponds of Mt. Poroshiri, Hokkaido, in the summer of 1970. In this paper, 115taxa are listed on the basis of the author's collections. A summary of the taxa is as follows : 29 taxa of the Chlorophyceae, 46 of the Desmidiaceae, 10 of the Euglenophyceae, 3 of the Chrysophyceae, 22 of the Cyanophyceae, 2 of the Pyrrophyceae and 3 of microfungi. Among them, 4 taxa, Dactylothece confluens HANSGIRG, Scenedesmus costatus SCHMIDLE, Roya obtusa (BREB.) W. et G. S. WEST var. montana W. et G. S. WEST and Trachelomonas hispida (PERTY) STEIN var. papillata SKVORTZOW, are newly reported from Japan, while the others are rather widely distributed in Japan. Two taxa of crysophylous microorganisms, Scotiella nivalis FRITSCH and Chionaster nivalis (BOHLIN) WILLE, are also observed in the collections.
