Samuel Bamford, though known for most of his life as a radical, left valuable materials that also describe the life of a man of letters. Working as a weaver, and occasionally as a warehouse man, he became aware of the writings, and radical views of Cobbett, which consequently led to his involvement with the Peterloo Massacre, one of his most significant moments in his life. The purpose of this article is, placing emphasis on the case, to provide a brief overview of Samuel Bamford's life from a political point of view.
