顕微鏡カラーテレビシステムを導入した教育法の研究 : 第一報 病理組織細胞学実習での使用実績及び課題

Recently, according to an increasing use of color photographs in the National Examination for Medical Technologist, the authors introduced a system of a light microscope connected with color-TV-monitors and a digital recorder into the education of pathological histology and cytology to promote students' understanding, on trial. In this education course, colored slides were also presented to indicate histo-cytological changes in detail. Through discussions and questions in the course, the evaluating results revealed the understanding levels and weak points of the students in the histology, stain technology, and cytology. Majority of the students are able to give the correct organ names, but they still have insufficient knowledge in the tissue structure and cells, in detail. The same tendency is observed in the stain technology, i.e. majority of the students give a correct answer on the name of staining methods, but do not on the staining mechanism and materials, especially in the silver staining. Most of the students attain to an acceptable level of knowledge in cell diagnosis, regarding to differentiate between pathological cell change and normal, benign finding and malignant, and to classify of cancer cells. By the results of the present trial, the introduction of the new color-visual system is useful to promote students' understanding in the education of pathology, but some problems still remain to be improved in our teaching method.
