Three new taxa of the genus Pennisetia DEHNE, 1850, P. hylaeiformis assimilis subsp. nov., P. fixeni admirabilis subsp. nov., and P. insulicola sp. nov., are described from Japan. Pennisetia fixeni (LEECH, [1889]), described from Japan, is revived from a synonym of the Hindustan species, P. contracta (WALKER, 1856).
