A circuit was built for the oscillator of a synchro-cyclotron, with which oscillator can be stopped and started at a desired instant during the frequency modulation cycle. By reducing the duration of the oscillation to one fifth of the whole cycle the dee voltage was successfully raised during acceleration without increasing the mean radio frequency power loss. In this way the beam intensity at the scattering chamber was increased by a factor of two, and a stable beam up to 0.3μA was obtained within an area of 0.2cm^2.
