概要

The bulk second harmonic generation (SHG) in the cholesteric liquid crystal has been studied. The electric field E induces SHG in cholesteric liquid crystal with small dielectric anisotropy and SHG intensity is proportional to E^2. This electric field dependence is tentatively interpreted in terms of the increase in polarization density due to flexoelectric deformation.
