Resolution Improvement of the Patterson Map of Tl(BaSr)CaCuO "1212" Phase Superconductor by the Maximum Entropy Method

Based on the maximum entropy method (MEM), calculation of the Patterson map of a Tl(BaSr)CaCuO (1212) phase superconductor has been carried out. The resulting Patterson map is of high quality and much superior compared to the map obtained by conventional direct Fourier synthesis. It was proposed that the MEM Patterson map was suitable to obtain the structural model for the Rietveld method in the thallium system superconductor. Further work is in progress to better understand the Patterson map of another type of thallium based superconductor.
