Polarization Oscillation of Secondary Electrons Emitted from Au/Fe(110)

We have found that polarization and intensity of secondary electrons emitted from Au/Fe(110) oscillate periodically as functions of Au film thickness, with a period of 15±3 Å and with polarities opposite to each other. This result can be attributed to confined energy states in the Au film.
