豚流行性下痢ウイルス(PEDV)に対する鶏卵黄免疫グロブリン(IgY)の子豚での免疫予防効果

豚流行性下痢ウイルス(PEDV)は, 新生豚に高い致死率を伴う下痢症を起こす.そこで, 新生豚におけるPEDV(KPEDV-91842株)に対する鶏卵黄免疫グロブリン(IgY)の免疫予防効果を検討した.IgYの投与により, ウイルスで攻撃した子豚の致死率が低下することが明らかとなった.また, 野外試験においても, IgY投与群とコントロール群との間で子豚の生存率に有意な差が認められた.これらのことから, 抗PEDV-IgYは母豚からの初乳抗体のような補足的予防法の代わりに成り得ることが示された.
