We investigated the dissociation phenomena of liquid methane(LCH_4), the simplest hydrocarbon-liquid type structure, at the tip of a needle electrode, mainly by means of an observation of the fluorescence spectra. The CH peak observed in LCH_4 shifted to a longer wavelength than in gaseous CH_4 Near the tip of the point electrode, no bubble was found. These results indicate that molecular fragments in the liquid phase emit photons, the fluorescence being in LCH_4.
