The system 0.7 Pb(Fe_<1/2>Nb_<1/2>)O_3-0.3 Pb(Fe_<2/3>W_<1/3>)O_3, modified with aluminium (Al) and Pb(Zn_<1/3>,Nb_<2/3>)O_3 is used in the manufacture of high-quality materials for ceramic capacitors. The sintering temperature is reduced to 820 by adding Al, and samples show a higher dielectric constant than those of the system doped with Pb(Zn_<1/3>Nb_<2/3>). The results are explained in terms of the role of lattice defects and the effect of the relative size variations of tons in the modified crystal lattice.
