Effect of Hall Current on Hydromagnetic Free Convection Flow near an Accelerated Porous Plate : Other Areas in Science and Engineering

The effect of free convection current on the unsteady flow of MHD viscous and incompressible fluid past a uniformly accelerated vertical porous plate imbedded in a uniform applied magnetic field transverse to it is investigated, on the assumption that the induced magnetic field is negligible compared with the imposed magnetic field. The series solution for the velocity and the skin friction are obtained under the assumption that the hydromagnetic parameter Mt is small. The velocity profiles are shown graphically with the effect of the Hall parameter m, the magnetic field parameter Mt, the Grashof number Gr and the transpiration parameter a for a single value of the Prandtl number Pr=0.71 which represents air at 20℃. The numerical values of the skin friction components are given in tabular form for different values of these parameters.
