The magnetic anisotropy field (H_a) of metal acicular particles in audio tapes was studied using ferromagnetic resonance (FMR). The H_a value of 5.28kOe was obtained assuming acicular particles having a saturation magnetization of M=1.70kG and a gyromagnetic factor of γ/2π=2.926GHz/kOe of pure Fe. From H_a=5.28kOe, the axial ratio of 2.1 is reduced; the value is smaller than the expected value (5-10) due to the shape of acicular particles.
