To reduce leakage current of S-I-S junctions for radiation detection, usefulness of an oxygen plasma treatment for edges of the junctions has been studied. Temperature dependences of subgap currents of the junctions are measured. From these dependences, maximum leakage currents flowing through the edges of the junctions are estimated. These leakage currents are comparable to the smallest leakage current reported for anodized S-I-S junctions.
