Quartz crystal resonators with frequencies of hundreds of kilo-hertz are frequently used in paging instruments. Quartz tuning fork resonators in the overtone mode are suitable for such applications. However, quartz tuning fork resonators in the overtone mode have been studied in less detail than those in the fundamental mode. It is necessary for the quartz tuning fork resonators in the overtone mode to be carefully designed from the point of view of total vibrational system-design including the supporting leads and capsules. In this paper, we clarify the unwanted temperature characteristics which is a result of total vibrational system design.
