Magnetic field distributions within the pole gaps of electromagnets are analysed. The inhomogeneity existing even at infinite permeability is attributed to the inclination of pole parallelism, while the permeability dependent inhomogeneity is caused by the nonuniformity of pole piece materials. The latter inhomogeneity was separated into components belonging to the left and right pole pieces.
