The present paper investigates the stability of an inviscid fluid of small thermometric conductivity confined between two rigid horizontal parallel planes under the action of a uniform nonadverse temperature gradient while the fluid has a general streaming which depends only on the vertical coordinate z. The main results established in the paper are as follows: It is shown that, (a) The phase velocity of any arbitrary unstable or neutral wave must lie between the maximum and minimum of the streaming velocity. (b) Principle of exchange of stabilities cannot be satisfied for velocity distributions which do not vanish anywhere in the flow domain. (c) The complex wave velocity of an arbitrary unstable wave is shown to lie inside a rectangle for all a_x>1/2 and further a sufficient condition of stability is also given.
