Fine particles of Be, Mg, Al, Cr, Fe, Ni, Co, Cu, Zn, Ag, Cd and Au were prepared by means of evaporation in xenon gas. The particle size was about 3 or 4 times larger than that for those prepared in argon gas of the same pressure. Almost all particles exhibited distinct crystalline shapes except Al.
