The electric field dependence of positronium formation in crystalline quartz was experimentally investigated. It was found that the probability of positronium formation in the crystal decreases with increasing electric field up to 140 kV/cm at least. This result itself suggests that the mechanism of formation of positronium in crystalline quartz would possibly be the spur type. In order to interpret the Ps-formation phenomena in the crystal from the viewpoint of a spur-type model, the solution of time-dependent Onsager's diffusion equation should be used.
