Based on the knowledge of the heat of vaporization at normal boiling point alone, a thermodynamic equation has been derived by Van Dijk to represent the relation between the pressure of the saturated vapor of a substance and its thermodynamic temperature (the P-T relation). We have measured the heat of vaporization of oxygen at its normal boiling point, which is the most important quantity to use the above equation, and obtained a new P-T relation of oxygen. The obtained value for the heat of vaporization of oxygen at its normal boiling point is 6822.7 J・mol^<-1>, and P-T relation based on this value suggests that the P-T relation of oxygen adopted in the IPTS-68 may give slightly higher temperature values than those in the thermodynamic temperature unit not exceeding 13 mK.
