A model for the mechanism of Rebinder effects is proposed from a point of view of the charge transferred chemisorption. The electric and elastic interactions of the near-surface edge dislocation and the adsorption induced surface defect are discussed in considering the cleaved MgO surface immersed in dimethylsulfoxide and/or N,N-dimethylforamide as an example.
