The design and some experimental results of a 30cm long standing wave electron linac are described. The accelerating tube is an alternating periodic structure (APS) and fed with 2856 MHz rf power in 2μsec pulses by a tunable magnetron (Toshiba M4543). With a peak power of 3MW, 4MeV 100mA beam pulses are produced. Peak accelerated currents of 400mA with 1μsec duration are obtained for 50KeV A injection currents. This linac will be used for radiation therapy.
