An NS solver with global conservation for free surface flow past a ship hull is developed, in which the pseudo-compressibility is introduced and the free surface-fitted coordinate system is adopted. The moving grid system is used to fit the deforming free surface boundary. The validity of the present scheme is investigated by checking the influence of the grid resolution, the stress condition on the free surface, and the trim. Numerical simulations are carried out for the waves generated by a Series 60 (C_b=0.6) ship model at the Reynolds number range Re=1.987×10^6〜3.180×10^6 and the Froude number range Fr=0.20〜0.32. The computed results, i.e. the resistance coefficients, the wave profiles along the hull and the wave patterns, show good agreements with the measurements.
