• The systematic description on the horsefly larvae was made in this paper as follows. The sixty-nine adults emerged from about one hundred larvae which were mostly collected from the mud of the paddy-fields and were reared separately in the laboratory. According to the characteristic of the adults, it was proved that the larvae consisted of at least ten species. In this way the hitherto unknown larvae belonging four species (Tabanus takasagoensis SHIRAKI, T. trigonus COQUILLETT, T. sp. 1 and Gn. sp. 2) were described and figured, and one species (T. mandarinus SCHINER) was emended. The key to the larvae of ten species (six recorded and four above mentioned) was also given in this paper.
