An ideal management & production informationThe purpose of this research is to find the positive environmental effect on the office work. The "postive" environment means such a pleasant environment as reduces workers' stress and enhances their productivity. Until now, an office environment has been artificially arranged to keep health and security of office workers, and a fairly comfortable office environment has been provided in Japan. Recently music and fragrance are gaining much attention as environmental factors. Especially studies have been done on how music and fragrance speed up typing and reduce typing mistakes, but have not been done yet on how they effect on the intellectual productivity in general. In this research I picked up an office environment which produces software. I divided the intellectual work place into 4 groups (a group with no conditioning, that conditioned by music only, that by fragrance only, and that by both music and fragrance) and checked the positive effect of each group on the workers' psychology,brain work efficiency and office productivity. Here I would like to report on the results of this research.
