• In this paper we present a formal specification of a specific DSS. The basic idea is to recognize that the combination of a system and its user composes a goal seeking system and to assert that the goal seeking activity is to be hierarchically decomposed between the system and the user, logical and heuristic activity for the system and subjective and self-organizing activity for the user. This structure is derived in order to make the best use of the features of the computer and the human being. This specification has been successfully implemented.
