Agmatine-G-^3H and N-carbamylputrescine-1,4-^<14>C were effectively incorporated into the nicotine of tohacco plants. This result may indicate a route that the pyrrolidine ring of nicotine is formed from putrescine by the following pathway: arginine→agmatine→N-carbamylputrescine→putrescine→→→pyrlfolidine ring.
