Macrovision's Anti-Copy Process (APC) is composed of AGC pulses and Split Burst Colorstripe Process, both of which are designed to cause distorted picture when the videos with such processes are recorded by analog VCRs, while to be exempted from any playability problem when the videos with such processes are played on TVs. Both processes are invented to pay attention to the differences as to how to respond to these processes between TVs and VCRs. Whether or not ACP is generated and inserted into the videos at Digital-to-Analog Color encoder chip is managed by control bit in digital signals at the source.
