Perpendicular recording media were simulated using a model based on the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert (LLG) equation. We included a random component in the calculation of the effective field in order to study time dependence phenomena. In single layer media, the time dependence of magnetisation was found to be large following saturation of the media, for bilayer media the time dependence was reduced. The time dependence of written bits was also investigated and found to be much lower than for the saturated media. In addition, the time dependence decreased further as the bit density increased.
