This paper proposes the method of using the Rough Sets as a classfier for the recognition of Thai Characters. In our work we divide the classification process into 2 levels, coarse and fine classification. There are 40 coarse groups, some of them not needing to pass through the second level of classification. The accuracy of this system rates as high as 99%
