EXTRACTION OF CHARACTER STRING REGIONS FROM SCENE IMAGES ATTENDED TO SIGNBOARD REGION

概要

• We propose an extraction method of character string region included in a natural scene image. In this method, an input scene image is divided into several binary images. Hough transform is applied to each binary image and candidate rectangle regions are extracted. Character string region is finally determined by accumulating such candidates which exist in each binary image. This method shows that about 98% of target regions are correctly extracted as an experimental result.
