• A tricarbocyclic sesquiterpenoid (1), isolted from the ethereal extract of the rootlets of Panax ginseng C. A. MEYER, showed almost identical nuclear magnetic resonance data to those reported for senecrassidiol (2). Detailed spectral analysis of 1 led us to revise the stereochemistry of 2.
