• The Japanese species of the genus Hydropsyche are revised taxonomically. Among them, males, females and larvae are described for five species : H. orientalis MARTYNOV, H. albicephala sp. nov., H. nevae KOLENATI, H. yaeyamensis sp. nov., and H. nakaharai TSUDA. This paper is the first part of a series of taxonomical studies on the Japanese Hydropsyche.
