On the Japanese Species of the Family Brentidae (Coleoptera)

The Japanese species of the Brentidae are reviewed. Six new species, Cyphagogus iwatensis, Hypomiolispa mikagei, Trachelizus japonicus, Trachelizus makiharai, Cerobates palnicollis and Leptamorphocephalus fumosus are described. Four species, Callipareius formosanus (KLEINE, 1916), Cerobates formosanus SCHOENFELDT, 1911, Cerobates canaliculatus MOTSCHULSKY, 1858, and Caenorychodes planicollis (WALKER, 1858) are newly recorded from Japan. Asaphepterum japonicus NAKANE, 1963, is newly transferred to Callipareius, Cerobates octoguttatus NAKANE, 1963, is to Caenorychodes, and Amorphocephalus gyotokui NAKANE, 1963, is to Amorphocephala.
