Three new species of scutacarid mites belonging to the genus Archidispus are described from Japan under the names of A. rostratus, A. fusiformis and A. omega. They are associated with ground beetles of the subtribe Stenolophina of the tribe Harpalini and distinguished from the known congeners mainly by the shape of certain modified setae on ventral plates as well as the conformation of apodeme II and, in A. rostratus, also by the shape of the first hysterosomal tergite and the presence of an unusual accessory sclerite at the base of dorsal seta d_1. The female mites are found attached to the intersegmental membrane between head and prothorax or that between prothorax and mesothorax of host insects. The male and immature stages are unknown.
