1. Field observations have shown that the adults of Dineutes mcllyi REGIMBART regularly appear every year in the stream in late February near Taihoku, Formosa. 2. They are whirling over the surface of water in groups, and become more active all at once by some external stimulus, but do not change the original whirling area. 3. They are positively phototropic on the morning and in the evening, becoming, however, negative to the strong light such as the direct sunshine in mid-day. 4. The eggs are able to hatch even at extremely high and low temperatures as 15℃ and 35℃. They expand the apex at the part of the micropyle before hatching. 5. All the new adults certainly leave the water to the land in July, and remain there until next spring.
