The male internal reproductive organs were examined in 85 species of the Braconidae, representing 17 subfamilies, to know whether their structures could be used in elucidating the phylogeny of the Braconidae. For the out-group comparison, those of ten species of the Ichneumonidae, representing ten subfamilies, and two of the Paxylommatidae were also examined. On the basis of the structures of the male internal reproductive organs, additional morphological characters and the general biology, the examined braconid subfamilies are to be arranged in the following three monophyletic groups : 1) Braconoid-group : Doryctinae, Braconinae and Rogadinae ; 2) Alysioid-group : Opiinae and Alysiinae ; and 3) Helconoid-group : Ichneutinae, Aphidiinae, Helconinae, Blacinae, Euphorinae, Homolobinae, Macrocentrinae, Agathidinae, Orgilinae, Cheloninae, Microgastrinae and Neoneurinae.
