A Taxonomic Study of the Genus Medetera Fischer von Waldheim of Japan (Diptera : Dolichopodidae)

The following four new species of the genus Medetera Fischer von Waldheim are described and illustrated from Japan : M. flavigenus, M. gotohorum, M. luteipes and M. nakamurai. A key to all the 15 named Japanese species of the genus is given. A note of their distribution and relationships is also included.
