In a previous paper we reported the fibrillar system of Blepharisma undulans japonicus studied by elecrtron microscope method. In this paper we report the intracellular structure observed on the ultra-thin section of the animal. The macronucleus is filled with many small (0.1-0.23μ) and a few large granules (0.4μ) intermingled with many smaller granules (500Å). The micronucleus, which has an obscure inner structure, is connected with the surface of the macronucleus with thin wall. Thin walls with periodic structure are observed on the border of cytoplasm and vacuoles scattered in cytoplasm. The food vacuoles contain many food droplets showing various digested steps. The wall of the food vacuole has many small cupolas project toward the inside. In the ectoplasm there are many mitochondria-like granules aggregated generally in the vertical direction to the longitudinal axis of the animal body, while in the endoplasm there are a few granules. These granules are sperical, oval or filamentous in shape and have micromilli. Beside these the animal has many pigment granules red colored and arranged along the ciliary lines. They show granulated or homogenous structure differently from that of mitochondria. In the enchylema many small granules (5-600Å) are observed when the section is not treated with amyl acetate.
