This is a report concerning investigation of teeth of file-fishes. The materials are upper and lower jaws of Monacanthus cirrhifer and Cantherines modestus (Gunther) 20-25cm in whole length. 1. The teeth of upper jaw consist of 2 rows, 10 numbers (outer teeth are 6, inner 4), and the teeth of lower jaw stand in a row, 6 numbers. The form of teeth are rectangular and flat, and barely anchylosed on the alveolar margin of jaws. 2. The teeth consist of enamel, dentin and pulp. Enamel is fiber enamel, and it is one of tubular enamel that was shown by Jo in his study of the teeth of Selachians. The teeth are covered with this enamel. Dentin is orthodentin, and contains with pulp. There is nothing which is called the cementum by Retzius. however the predentin, is boundary area of teeth and bones.
