The split channel reservation multiple access (SRMA) data communication system has a high throughput efficiency since it allows the transmission medium to be reserved [1]. Queuing can then take place as resources are allocated to waiting requests. This paper proposes a combination of the DS-SS transmission and the SRMA techniques for an efficient, high capacity data communication system. The reservation capability of the proposed system allows a mixture of voice, video, and data traffic, and is useful for multimedia applications. Multiple access in the proposed system is done in the code domain instead of the frequency and time domain, where a number of MUs can simultaneously access the BS using the DS-SS method, i.e. n users can transmit their traffic, while m users reserve slots from the base station all on the same frequency bandwidth. Multiple simultaneous reservation is accomplished using a Multiple-Slotted-ALOHA (m-S-ALOHA) system, described in [2]. References [1]
